This June’s meetup was hosted by DXC Technology! This is their second time hosting an Agile Philippines meetup, and we’re really thankful for their continued support!

Cymer Bucao, Agile Offering Product Manager, welcomed us to DXC and to tonight’s meetup!

Cymer welcoming us to DXC and to tonight’s meetup

Earlier, we socialized a bit while waiting for people to arrive.

Hello!

We used Open Space to facilitate the meetup. We had 3 rounds of 20 minutes each: D, X, and C rounds, with 3 topics per round. We had 5 minute gaps between rounds to figure out where to go next. The topics we discussed came from those at the meetup.

Topic board: DONE!

The first topic leads the way.

First of many

Topics and schedule were:

D round: 7:50 — 8:10 PM

  • T: Org Structure vs. Agile Team
  • E: Agile Horror Stories
  • C: DevOps?

X round: 8:15 — 8:35 PM

  • T: Testing (the Agile way…) esp. manual testing
  • E: How do we optimize teams that are geographically divided?
  • C: How to involve/educate clients

C round: 8:40 — 9:00 PM

  • T: Indicators of success
  • E: How to be an effective user story creator?
  • C: How to roll agile out across multiple locations/scaled?

It looks like someone summarized each topic’s discussion with… hashtags?!

#Summary

We started wrapping up at around 9:00 in the evening with our big circle sharing session!

Closing!

As always, we think we could have gone longer, but that will have to wait until the next meetup. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Thank you again to DXC Technology for warmly welcoming us to their office! Special thanks to Cymer Bucao, Pat Fernando, AJ Fajardo, Greg Loria, and Cindy Vasquez for making this meetup happen!

Thanks DXC!

Agile Philippines meetups happen every last Wednesday of a month. This is a community event, and is only made possible by the people who go to the meetups, and the organizations who open their doors to allow us to meet as a community.

Please do reach out to our Facebook group if your organization is interested in hosting a future meetup.

See you next month at ANZ in Makati City!
