Agile Philippines Meetup 2018.07
This July’s meetup was hosted by Globe! This is the first time Globe is hosting the Agile Philippines community, and we couldn’t be more excited!
Pebbles Sy-Manalang, Chief Information Officer, welcomed us to Globe and to tonight’s meetup:
We also had Em Campbell-Pretty and Adrienne Wilson of Pretty Agile share about the Scaled Agile Framework.
Nice to see new and familiar faces!
We used Open Space to facilitate the meetup.
We had 5 topics each round, with a total of 3 rounds of 20 minutes each. Topic areas were G-L-O-B-E. We had 5 minute gaps between rounds to figure out which topics to join next.
Topics and schedule were:
Round 1: 8:00 PM–8:20 PM
- G: Scrum Master Support: waterfall smells in Agile (and how to fix them)
- L: Lean?
- O: How Agile work today?
- B: How long (in days) should sprints be? -or- What’s the ideal duration for each sprints?
- E: 2 teams working on the same product (things to avoid/best practices)
Round 2: 8:25 PM–8:45 PM
- G: Agile x ERP (complex systems) will it work? How it will work?
- L: Project Manager in Agile?
- O: Wagile

- E: How can you make an Agile team coherent?
Round 3: 8:50 PM–9:10 PM

We started wrapping up after 9:00 in the evening with a big circle sharing session:
As always, we think we could have gone longer, but that will have to wait until the next meetup!
Thank you again to Globe for warmly welcoming us to their office. Special thanks to Pebbles Sy-Manalang, Richley Arellano, Mepo Banzon, Mariel Raz, Beeps de los Santos, Nica Pormilda, Shey Miñoza, and Gian Esguerra for making this meetup happen!
Agile Philippines meetups happen every last Wednesday of a month. This is a community event, and is only made possible by the people who go to the meetups, and the organizations who open their doors to allow us to meet as a community.
Please do reach out to our Facebook group if your organization is interested in hosting a future meetup.
See you in August with Codelean in Bonifacio Global City!
