This October’s meetup was hosted by Emerson! This is their first time hosting the community, and our only Ortigas meetup for the year!

Hello Emerson!

Rowena Saquin, Site Leader, formally welcomed us to Emerson and to tonight’s meetup.

People made their way to the meetup.

Hello!

We used Open Space to facilitate the meetup. We had 5 topics each round, with a total of 3 rounds of 20 minutes each. Topic areas were A-G-I-L-E. We had 5 minute gaps in between rounds to figure out where to join next.

  • L: How do you implement Scrum on a product with instability?
  • E: Best activities to transition to an Agile mindset

Round 2: 8:30 PM–8:50 PM

  • A: Metrics in Agile
  • G: Practical use of velocity and constraints
  • I: How to do UX design in an Agile environment?

We started wrapping up at around 9:15 in the evening with a quick raffle:

Congrats!

And our big closing circle:

Big closing circle

As always, we think we could have gone longer, but that will have to wait until the next meetup!

Thank you again to Emerson for warmly welcoming us to their office. Special thanks to Tenny, Eric, Dave, Norman, Mavic, Bryan, Jennylyn, EDP, Gian, and the rest of Emerson who made the meetup a success!

Thank you!

Agile Philippines meetups happen every last Wednesday of a month. This is a community event, and is only made possible by the people who go to the meetups, and the organizations who open their doors to allow us to meet as a community.

Please do reach out to our Facebook group if your organization is interested in hosting a future meetup.

See you in November at Freelancer at Bonifacio Global City!
