Agile Philippines Meetup 2019.05
Home Credit Philippines hosted the Agile Philippines meetup this May! This is the first time Home Credit is hosting, and we thank them for their support!
Bari Barcak, Chief Software Architect, formally welcomed us to Home Credit and to tonight’s meetup!
Lots of discussions happening even before we officially started!
We used Open Space to facilitate the meetup. We had 5 topics each round (HO-ME-CR-ED-IT), and 3 rounds in total. Each round was 20 minutes long, with 5 minute gaps in between to figure out where to go next:
Topics and schedule were:
7:50 PM–8:10 PM:
- HO: UX/UI and Agile
- ME: Agile + Security
- CR: HR changes to support Agile
- ED: Agile shared services operations
- IT: Roles?
8:15 PM–8:35 PM:
- HO: Agile: changing the way of development and delivery
- ME: Shared resources in Scrum Teams
- CR: Agile in a non-IT setting
- ED: Preparation to be Agile???
- IT: How to improve delivery/development with Agile?
8:40 PM–9:00 PM:
- HO: Big scale Agile
- ME: Agile transformation waterfall/hybrid/pure Agile
- CR: Can testing and development be in separate sprints?
- ED: Scrum Master Support: Sprint metrics that matter to biz
- IT: —
We started wrapping up at 9:00 in the evening with our big closing circle:
As always, we think we could have gone longer, but that will have to wait until the next meetup!

Agile Philippines meetups happen every last Wednesday of a month. This is a community event, and is only made possible by the people who go to the meetups, and the organizations who open their doors to allow us to meet as a community.
