We had our second online community meetup in May. We also decided to have 2 meetups in May, shortening the “sprint” from 4 weeks to 2 weeks. We did this to increase the rate of feedback and learning, as we take our community meetups online in this time of crisis.

We still had one big call, and used Lean Coffee to faciliate the meetup. We went through 5 topics, with 20 minute time boxes each topic:

Topics and schedule were:

7:10 PM — 8:50 PM:

  • S-S-M-M: Sneaky Scrum Master Moves
  • What’s your favorite Agile/Scrum event you do with your team and why
  • What technical practices do your teams follow? Continuous integration/deployment? TDD? BDD?
  • Teaching agility to leadership — good practices in telling the story
  • What’s the essence of being a Scrum Master?

We also had a fair amount of links shared during the meetup, which may be useful reads for those interested:

We started wrapping up close to 9:00 in the evening with a group screenshot. We had exactly 49 people left, for the 49 slots in Zoom’s gallery view!

As always, we think we could have gone longer, but that will have to wait until the next meetup!

Agile Philippines meetups happen (usually) every last Wednesday of a month. This is a community event, and is only made possible by the people who go to the meetups, and the organizations who open their doors to allow us to meet as a community.

Please do reach out to our Facebook group or Slack if your organization is interested in hosting a future meetup.

We have one more meetup in May! See you then!
